RING TOUR OF LOCH NESS
Ring Tour of Loch Ness is a one day guided tour by mini-coach, traveling south in the Highlands along the shore of Loch Ness, probably the most famous Loch (Lake) in the world for its Legend of the Loch Ness monster, soaring between the ghostly ruins of Urquhart Castle, which is the one of Scotland’s most dramatic medieval fortresses and dates back to the 1200s.
The waters of Loch Ness covers an area of almost 22 square miles and its deepest has a depth of 754 feet. The most surprising statistic is the volume of water contained in the Loch, which is estimated to be 263 000 million cubic feet, the greatest volume of fresh water, more than in the whole of England and Wales put together.
Loch Ness is famed throughout the world for its Loch Ness monster, known locally as Nessie. To know more about the Legend of the Loch Ness monster, our first stop will be in the village of Drumnadrochit, where you can explore the world famous, award-winning multi-media Loch Ness Exhibition, walking through 500 million years of Loch Ness history & mystery.
